MEDEK Accreditation Application Process

In January 2024, the Vocational School of Social Sciences applied online to be included in MEDEK's accreditation processes with three associate degree programs, namely Civil Air Transportation Management, Health Institutions Management and Business Management Programs, at www.medek.org.tr.

Notification of Application Result

We were informed on February 8, 2024 that the 2024 MEDEK evaluation application for the three associate degree programs of our Vocational School of Social Sciences was accepted positively.

Online Information Meeting

The information meeting titled "Accreditation Process and MEDEK Criteria" was held remotely online by the MEDEK Board on February 20, 2024 for the programs accepted for MEDEK Accreditation.

Program Information Meeting

A Program Meeting was held on February 15, 2024, where the program faculty members participated to provide information about the Civil Air Transportation Management Program accreditation process. Some information about MEDEK was provided at the meeting, and discussions were held on basic accreditation criteria and related procedures. Decisions were made regarding the establishment of the MEDEK Accreditation Commission.

Establishment of the MEDEK Accreditation Commission and Consultation Meeting

The Civil Air Transportation Management Program MEDEK Accreditation Commission was established on February 19, 2024 and began its work to conduct research. On March 15, 20, and 27, 2024, the commission members came together and held regular meeting activities for the program mission, vision, educational objectives, program outcomes, and educational plan, and decisions were made.

Delivery of Accreditation Agreements to MEDEK

The agreements were signed by the Vocational School Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rıdvan KARABULUT and uploaded to the system on March 4, 2024. In addition, wet signed contracts were sent to MEDEK via cargo in two (2) copies.

External Stakeholder Meetings

In the meeting held with the program advisory board, which is the external stakeholder of the Civil Air Transportation Management program, on 28.03.2024, the program mission, vision, educational objectives, program outcomes and educational plan issues were discussed. As a result of the feedback received from the board, it was requested that the Vocational Foreign Language, Air Cargo and Dangerous Goods courses be added to the curriculum and the Load Control and Balance course be taught in practice. In this direction, the relevant decisions were implemented and changes were made to the 2023-2024 curriculum. In order to close the PUKO cycle, a meeting was held with the external stakeholder on 01.11.2024 and the listed elements were reviewed again. In addition, a meeting was held with the graduate students, who are the external stakeholders of the program, on 01.04.2024 and their opinions were obtained and the Advanced English course was added to the curriculum.

Internal Stakeholder Meetings

A meeting was held with our students, who are external stakeholders of the Civil Air Transportation Management program, on 29.03.2024 to discuss the program mission, vision, educational objectives, program outcomes and educational plan. In this context, as a result of internal stakeholder suggestions, Vocational Foreign Language and Technology Addiction courses were added to the 2023-2024 curriculum. On 24.10.2024, internal stakeholders were interviewed on issues where low scores were obtained according to the results of the 2023-2024 academic year student satisfaction surveys, and student suggestions were received. Studies are being carried out on the specified issues. On 16.10.2024, feedback regarding internships from students who did their internships in the summer term of the 2023-2024 academic year was discussed.
