Student Improvements

In the Quality Ambassadors Information Meeting held on 15.12.2022, opinions were received regarding the inadequacy of the capacities of projectors, speakers and computers in the classrooms. On 16.05.2023, a technical work request was made to the Information Technology Department. After receiving opinions regarding the negativity of not having a canteen in our building, a food and beverage vending machine was provided to our building.

In addition, the number of social areas was increased together with the Youth Center located under our building. In the meeting with foreign students held on 13.04.2023, a request to open a vocational Turkish course was conveyed to our department head. On 24.07.2023, a request to open a vocational Turkish course was conveyed to the Language Teaching Application and Research Center Directorate. It has been decided that the course will not be opened due to insufficient number of students and that the “Vocational Foreign Language” course will be added to the curriculum as a result of other stakeholder opinions.

In order to meet the demand from students to increase the number of accounting courses in the meeting titled “Obtaining Student Opinions and Suggestions and Discussing the Curriculum” held on 30.05.2023, the number of accounting courses has been increased in the 2023-2024 education plan.

In order to meet the demand from students to give more space to course content that includes social responsibility and ethics concepts in the meeting dated 1.04.2024, the “Social Responsibility and Ethics in Business” course has been added to the 2023-2024 education plan as an elective course.

Improvements to Graduates

The request to increase the number of elective courses expressed by the graduates in the interaction meeting held with the graduates on July 19, 2023; was realized in the updated education plan and the number of elective courses was increased.

According to the survey results of the evaluation of the business management program educational objectives by the graduates; It was determined that the least achieved program educational objective was "I can be a business manager who can undertake the necessary responsibilities at the basic level by understanding the importance of occupational health, safety, environment and career issues in management levels". In this context, in line with the decision taken at the meeting held on April 17, 2024, it was decided to add the "Occupational Health and Safety in Businesses" course to the 2023-2024 education plan in order to increase the rate of achievement of the relevant program objective.

Based on the feedback received at the meeting held with the graduates on 5.04.2024, the “Vocational Foreign Language” course was added to the 2023-2024 Education and Training Plan so that the students of the program can graduate with a foreign language knowledge that will allow them to follow current developments in their profession and communicate with their colleagues.

Improvements by Sector Representatives

After the decision was made to provide CV Writing and Interview Training to students within the scope of the Career Planning Course with the support of ISKUR in the meeting held with the ISKUR representative on 17.10.2022, the “CV Interview Training and Sector Representative” Interview was held on 22.12.2022 within the scope of the relevant course.

In the Unit Advisory Board Meeting held on 02.06.2023, the request for students to gain 21st century competencies; It has been tried to be met with changes made in the education and training plan. For example; A new course called “Digital Management and Artificial Intelligence” has been added to the 2023-2024 education and training plan. Another demand expressed by sector representatives at the same meeting is the monitoring and development of internship efficiencies. In order to meet this demand, the surveys evaluating the internship practices were filled out by the students and the relevant survey results were evaluated by the faculty member assigned to our program.

In line with the feedback received from the members of the program advisory board at the meeting held with the program advisory board on 15.04.2024, it was decided to add a course in which concrete applications and application examples in business were shared so that students could develop various solutions to the problems they encounter in the workplace when they graduate. In line with this decision, the “Business Practices” course has been added to the 2023-2024 Education and Training Plan as a compulsory course.

Personnel Improvements

In the Academic Performance Evaluation Meeting dated 17.03.2023, it was decided to continue the reward system and at the same time to provide an information training aimed at increasing the number of publications of academic staff by a competent faculty member to be selected from among our instructors. In line with this decision, in-service training was provided by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sevgi Sümerli on Friday, March 1, 2024.

In the Academic Performance Evaluation Meeting dated 27.02.2024, decisions were made upon the requests of the faculty members to continue the reward system. In this context, awards are presented to our program faculty members for their successful work within our unit.
