Civil Air Transportation Management Program

FOUNDATION

The Civil Air Transportation Management Program, which is part of the Kayseri University School of Social Sciences, has started education by accepting its first students as of the 2021-2022 academic year.

The program is in the MEDEK process.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES

KNOWLEDGE

1.Has basic, current and applied knowledge about civil aviation.

2.Has knowledge about occupational health and safety, environmental awareness and quality processes.

SKILLS

3.Follows current developments and applications in the field of civil aviation and uses them effectively.

4.Has knowledge of digitalization and basic information technologies related to his field and uses this knowledge effectively.

5.Has the ability to provide analytical and critical evaluation and solution proposals using the knowledge and skills he has on issues related to his field.

COMPETENCE

6. Can effectively present his/her thoughts in written and verbal form at the level of knowledge and skills, and express them in an understandable manner.

7. Can take responsibility in carrying out complex and unpredictable activities as a leader, self-confident and productive individual in projects carried out in the field of civil aviation.

8. Has awareness of career management, entrepreneurship and lifelong learning.

9. Has social, scientific, cultural and ethical values ​​in the stages of collecting, implementing and announcing the results of data related to the field of civil aviation.

10. Has command of at least one foreign language that he/she can use in his/her professional life.

AREA

11. Explains general concepts related to civil aviation and business and acquires basic level knowledge and skills.

12. Explains national and international aviation rules.

13. Defines meteorological conditions occurring in the atmosphere, lists meteorological events that are dangerous for flight, interprets meteorological reports and documents used in aviation.

14. Explains national and international legislation and regulations regarding safety and security problems that may occur at airports and has awareness of aviation safety.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

1. In order to be able to work in various departments at airports, courses such as Introduction to Civil Aviation, Passenger Services, Basic Operations, Airport Management, Airport System, Load Control and Balance are included in the education and training plan.

2. In order to be able to become a professional with occupational health and safety and environmental protection awareness and ethical values ​​by complying with the rules of law in the departments of airline companies and air cargo companies, courses such as Basic Legal Knowledge, Air Cargo and Dangerous Goods, Occupational Health and Safety, Sustainability are taught.

3. In order to be able to develop projects and take initiatives by using computer skills and adopting the philosophy of lifelong learning, courses such as Basic Information Technologies, Turkish Language, Professional Foreign Language, Entrepreneurship are included in the education and training plan.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

Aims of our programme;

1) Working in the departments (passenger services officer, operations officer, etc.) on the air and land side of the airports,

2) In all departments of airline companies and air cargo businesses (quality, human resources,

3) ground operations, etc.), the professional staff who are committed to ethical values with occupational health and safety and environmental protection awareness by respecting the rules of law,

4) Developing projects and taking initiatives by using computer competences and adopting the philosophy of lifelong learning as a principle,

5) To train individuals who use the knowledge acquired at the associate degree level in the continuation of their education life.

DEGREE EARNED

Those who complete the civil air transportation management program are assigned the title of "Civil Air Transportation Manager".

PROGRAM PROFILE

Our program, which continues its education under the name of Civil Air Transportation Management program under the Department of Transportation Services of the Vocational School of Social Sciences, aims to train professional staff who adopt aviation safety as a principle in the field of airport operation and management. Civil Air Transportation Management graduates continue their work by using resources in the most effective way and have adopted the principle of using the passenger and cargo capacities of aircraft at the optimum level. They can carry out the processes related to both aircraft and passengers at airports in a coordinated manner. While doing all these, the issue they care about the most is aviation safety. Our graduates have the opportunity to complete their undergraduate education by vertically transferring to various undergraduate programs suitable for the program they graduated from in accordance with the relevant legislation within the scope of lifelong learning. The Civil Air Transportation Management program covers a two-year education period. In the program, basic aviation courses are given, as well as auxiliary courses aimed at students having the qualifications that will meet the need for intermediate staff so that they can more easily find a place for themselves in institutions, organizations and the private sector where they have the opportunity to work after graduation.

TRANSITION TO UPPER DEGREE PROGRAMS

Those who successfully complete the Civil Air Transportation Management program can complete their undergraduate education by transferring to Aviation Management, Business Administration, Business Administration, Logistics, Logistics Management, Travel Management, Travel Management and Tourism Guidance, Technology and Information Management, Transportation and Logistics, Transportation and Logistics Management, International Logistics, Tourism Management with the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS).
